Magda was the Fulbright Scholar in residence at Elizabethtown College during the spring semester 2012. She brought to the role an extensive teaching background, prolific writing experience and a vast array of media interactions with prominent political figures, media icons and celebrities. A writer and contributor to a number of books, newspapers and publications, Magda authored the book "U.S. Mass Media: Views from Inside."

She has taught courses on several media topics including broadcasting, journalism and public relations. Magda also instructs on Arab mass media, international communication, Aabic/English translation and offers workshops on communications skills, news and management.

Magda has served as a consultant for Egyptian Radio and Television Union on the news and political affairs committee; United States Agency for International Development (USAID); European Union projects and the Coca Cola Company. Her radio and broadcasting ventures include presenting a weekly cultural program titled "Stars on Egyptian Land" for the European Service of Radio Cairo for which she interviews key figures. The program won several recognitions as one of the best interviewing radio shows in English for the Arab Broadcasting Union.

Magda earned her doctorate with 1st honors from the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University-Radio and Television Department in 1983. She holds a master's degree in mass communication from the American University in Cairo and a bachelor's degree in English literature from Ain Shams University.
