“At Elizabethtown, the motto is 'educate for service.' I have had the opportunity to participate in some very rewarding programs that have helped me to appreciate others and give back to the community…" --Stephanie Gingrich
Hailing from Kutztown, Pa, Stephanie Gingrich is a devoted Biology major who has blossomed during her time at Elizabethtown College. Stephanie spends her down time participating in Symphonic Band, Clarinet Ensemble and Saxophone Ensemble, as well as working as a Biology tutor, a dining services employee and in Dr. Diane Bridge’s research lab.
Stephanie says she chose E-town because of the pre-med program, the location, atmosphere and class sizes, which allow her to connect with other students in her major. Stephanie has earned honors in Tri Beta, the National Biological Honor Society, as a recipient of the Dr. Benjamin G. and Vera B. Musser Pre-Medical Scholarship, the Biology Departmental Honors Award, and also has been on the dean’s list for four semesters.
Her favorite part of campus life is the friendly, accepting atmosphere and events such as TGIS and the Mr. E-town competition.
“Virtually everyone on campus participates and has a good time; it really brings everyone on campus together,” she said. “At Elizabethtown, the motto is ‘educate for service.’ I have had the opportunity to participate in some very rewarding programs that have helped me to appreciate others and give back to the community…There are many programs that are available for students to get involved with the community and be bigger than themselves, and I am very grateful I’ve become involved.”
Stephanie recommends Elizabethtown College because of the challenging academics and friendly environment.
“Even though E-town is a small school, there are plenty of extracurricular activities, and the friendships I have made here I believe will last a lifetime.”
