Accounting Career Days
Elizabethtown College and the PICPA (Pennsylvania Institute of CPA's) annually co-host one of the “Accounting Career Days” programs that occur across the state. The program is a one day event that invites students from surrounding high schools to learn about the diverse career paths in accounting first hand from local CPA's. Speakers talk to groups of students about their unique career and school experiences, as well as how to find a work-life balance. The session also includes an opportunity to ask questions of some of our current accounting majors and the attendees are given information on the college admissions process and how to apply to college. Attendance is usually around 200 high school students and educators.
Professor Terrie Riportella, Edgar T. Bitting Chair of Accounting and Director of Accounting Program, works with the PICPA to organize the campus components of the event.
