Areas of Study

The Department of Communications offers a Bachelor of Arts in Communications; students can choose between two concentrations. Students can also minor in the discipline; a minor in Communications fits well with many other disciplines offered at Elizabethtown College and allows students to develop competency in communications, writing and production.

Bachelor of Arts in Communications

As a communications major at Elizabethtown College, you'll lay the groundwork for a career as a professional communicator in both the media/journalism and corporate worlds. You'll learn communication theory, production techniques and principles of program design and management in a wide range of communication subjects. You'll build a solid foundation in writing, public speaking, performance and publication.

Concentrations:

• Corporate Communications concentration – prepares students for a career in public relations or marketing communications
• Mass Communications concentration – provides a foundation for a career in print and broadcast media fields, with a strong emphasis on writing for the media
