Why Study Computer Science at E-town?
Strong, Experienced Faculty
The four full-time faculty members in the computer science department have broad experience in computer science with specialties spanning from computer engineering, networking, visual and object-oriented programming languages, compiler design, systems analysis and design, database and information systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, supercomputer design, web programming and software applications.
On-Campus Work Opportunities
Gain real-world experience helping other students with technology needs by working at the Elizabethtown college Help Desk. By working in the Information and Technology Services office on campus, you'll get to put theory in to practice while earning some extra money.
Collaboration with Other Departments
The Computer Science program is part of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, so as a major in our department, you'll become familiar with students and faculty in the math programs. Also, our computer engineering major is offered in conjunction with the Physics and Engineering Department.
Experiential Learning
As part of your major, you can gain practical experience through a for-credit internship at a company or organization.
Senior Thesis Research Project
During your senior year, you'll get to work one-on-one on a research project with a faculty member. You'll research, write a paper and present your work to peers in your department. Past projects have included graphical computer games, web-linked database systems and computer networks.
