Internships and Experiential Learning

As a psychology major at Elizabethtown College you can gain valuable, practical real world experience at a number of internship or field work sites nearby. This experience can help you solidify how you choose to use psychology after you graduate.

Some recent types of internship experiences and specific sites include:

• Psychiatric treatment centers
  Bell Socialization, Harrisburg State Hospital, Philhaven, Community Services, Manos House
• Research with neurological and psychiatric populations
  Hershey Medical Center, Lebanon Veteran's Administration, Masonic Homes
• School psychology and work with special needs children and adolescents
  S. June Smith Center, Elizabethtown High School, YWCA, Lancaster Probation and Parole
• Community and industry
  Innovation Focus, American Red Cross

You aren't limited to local sites or the types of locations listed above. Some our department interns have even studied animal behavior at places like the Maryland zoo.
