This special concert event will feature alumnus singer/songwriter/musician and Tate Publishing and Enterprises recording artist Darren Frehulfer. Armed with catchy rhythms and flowing lyrics, Darren puts the genre of Beach-folk on the map! Both with his live performances and first commercial album, The Old College Try, his music pulls influence from Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson and Gavin DeGraw, and is sure to bring the comfort of beach chairs and sand to the Academic Quad.  Audience key = A, F, P, S

An "artist of the Earth" James Furhman's pieces are the creation of "spaces of still and quiet … places of reflection and contemplation." As Elizabethtown's Visiting Artist for the fall 2012 semester, Fuhrman will not only be creating works for the Lyet Gallery, but also a floating sculpture for Lake Placida! Enjoy a special screening of "The Kids Grow Up," a beautiful exploration of the joy, passion, ups-and-downs and "letting go" of becoming a college student, with critically-acclaimed filmmaker Doug Block. "The Kids Grow Up" chronicles Doug's only child Lucy during her emotionally-fraught last year at home before leaving for college. As a filmmaker based in New York, his work includes some of the most acclaimed feature documentaries of the past two decades.
