Your Career Journey

The Career Development Center educates students on career readiness skills, facilitates connections with employers for internships and jobs, and provides support to students on their professional journey.

We provide professional assistance to students and alumni in many ways including career exploration for current students and job transitioning for alumni. We also work with employers on recruiting efforts for jobs and internships. We are dedicated to enriching the experience at Elizabethtown College.

O*NET (The Occupational Information Network) is an online database that contains hundreds of standardized and occupation-specific descriptors on almost every job in the workforce. It is developed under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration (USDOL/ETA) and is a comprehensive source of occupational information.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) is a comprehensive guide to career information and is published by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). It offers detailed information on hundreds of occupations, providing valuable insights into job tasks, work environments, educational and training requirements, median pay, and job outlook over the next decade for each occupation. The OOH is an essential resource for students, career advisors, and job seekers aiming to make informed decisions about their career paths.

Resources For Alumni

The Career Development Center is happy to assist alums with their professional journey! Recent alumni (alumni who graduated in the past three years) are eligible for unlimited appointments. Established alumni (alumni who graduated five or more years ago from the current year) are eligible for up to three appointments after graduation. We appreciate your understanding of this policy because of our current staffing levels in the Career Development Center. To schedule an appointment, please email careerdevelopmentcenter@etown.edu.
