2016 Recap
Thanks to the extraordinary involvement of 1,363 Blue Jays and friends, Elizabethtown College truly realized the “Power of One Day” on Wednesday, March 16.
Devised as an initiative to encourage donor participation through individual contributions, the 2016 edition of the Power of One Day accomplished this goal and so much more. Not only did loyal alumni, parents and friends join together to help the College exceed its goal of 1,000 donors in 24 hours, they also collectively set an Etown record for the number of gifts received, eclipsing the previous total of 849 donors.
Donors on this day contributed to a grand total of $277,580 in financial support. This figure consists of individual donations of varying sizes and features a unique collective gift from a very special group of Blue Jay supporters. This group, which joined together to provide $100 for every donor up to 1,000, contributed $100,000 to the cause and was an integral component of the efforts that resulted in the Day’s overall success.
Financial contributions generated through the Power of One Day bolstered multiple initiatives, but the main beneficiary was the Elizabethtown College Fund . The Fund, which serves as the foundation from which critical support for Elizabethtown College students is drawn, benefits the entire campus community by providing essential resources intended to strengthen programs and initiatives. Likewise, this fund enables the College to meet and address unexpected challenges when such instances arise.
Elizabethtown College extends its deepest gratitude to the following Blue Jay supporters who teamed together to provide the matching funds for the Power of One Day 2016.
