Amanda Cheetham, MS, CHES

Amanda is originally from upstate NY where she earned her BSED degree in Health Education from SUNY Cortland and her MS in Health Education from Ithaca College. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Her health education philosophy is based on the eight dimensions of wellness, which are all equally important for achieving and maintaining optimal health and wellness. Amanda oversees the Student Wellness Advocacy Group (SWAG), The WELL, The Body Shop and E-Fit programming.
Evie J. Gerber, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Gerber is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Evie earned her doctoral degree from UMBC (Clinical Psychology, PhD; APA-accredited). In 2011, she completed a pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology at the College of William & Mary Counseling Center (APA-accredited). In 2012, she completed a post-internship position at the University of the Sciences Counseling Center in Philadelphia. In addition, Evie has experience providing clinical services in a range of settings including an inpatient psychiatric hospital, domestic violence center, and community mental health center. Evie is an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Evie facilitates the following groups: Spectrum (LGBTQ+), Surviving to Thriving (Sexual Assault Recovery), and Mindfulness. She is a skilled generalist and has treated clients with a wide‐range of presenting concerns (e.g., adjustment/transitions, anxiety, bereavement, bulimia, body image, depression, interpersonal relationships, self-injury, sexual assault/trauma, and stress management). Additional areas of interest include mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and social justice.
Bruce G. Lynch, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist

Bruce joined the Student Wellness staff in January 2014, and has over twenty years of experience providing services to students in college counseling centers. Bruce earned his Ph.D. from the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1995, and worked at Old Dominion University’s counseling center from 1996 to 2003. He worked in the Counseling & Testing Center at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2003 to 2013, serving as the Director for five and one half years and holding positions of Assistant Director, Training Coordinator, and Senior Staff Psychologist. Bruce is a generalist therapist who assists students with a variety of mental health, situational and developmental concerns. Areas of professional interest include supervision, suicide prevention, affirming diversity, treatment of depression and anxiety, short term therapy, ethics, wellness, and family systems.
Veronica Umbrell, MSW, LCSW, CCDP-D
After 10 years of hospital-based counseling, Veronica joined the Student Wellness staff in October 2013. Veronica received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Millersville University in 2000 and her graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2003. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional addictions counselor (CCDP-D). Veronica is passionate about counseling others using a strengths-based collaborative approach. As a skilled generalist she has treated clients with a wide range of mental health, situational, and developmental concerns. Her professional interests include treatment of depression and anxiety, addictions recovery, spirituality, psychosocial adjustment, bereavement, self-esteem and development of interpersonal relationships. Her practice modalities include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy as well as mindfulness & acceptance techniques. A native to Elizabethtown she is delighted to be providing counseling services to the Elizabethtown College community.
Eileen Wagener, RN

Eileen Wagener is a licensed Registered Nurse who joined the Elizabethtown College in January 2007. She previously worked in student health at another Lancaster county institution of higher education. Earning her associates degree in Nursing from Prince George’s Community College in 1982, Eileen has been practicing professional nursing for more than 29 years. Previous experience includes, cardiac care, surgical care, pediatrics, and ambulatory care. The past ten years have been spent in college health.
Mayte Redcay, M.Ed., MSW, LCSW, LCADC, SAP
Mayte Redcay has over 22 years of experience helping people through counseling, education and community outreach. Mayte’s approach is to build a relationship, to listen, to understand what you have been through and where you want to go. She incorporates into her practice Holistic Mental Health strategies, interfaith spirituality and a strengths base approach. Mayte is knowledgeable in emotional intelligence, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and addressing issues related to adjustment to college, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
Mayte earned her graduate degree Master in Education from San Carlos University in Guatemala in 1999. In 2014, Mayte earned a second master degree in Social Work at Rutgers University. Mayte is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC). She is an expert in alcohol/drug issues, diversity issues, bicultural families, and Latin America. She is fluent Spanish and English. Mayte is a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has insight into intersectionality of race & sexuality.
Mayte has experience providing clinical services in a range of settings including hospitals, intensive outpatient programs, non-profits and the Student Wellness program where she counseled students from New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). Mayte joined the Student Wellness staff at Elizabethtown College in December 2016.
