Your Career Journey
The Career Development Center educates students on career readiness skills, facilitates connections with employers for internships and jobs, and provides support to students on their professional journey.
We provide professional assistance to students and alumni in many ways including career exploration for current students and job transitioning for alumni. We also work with employers on recruiting efforts for jobs and internships. We are dedicated to enriching the experience at Elizabethtown College.

While Handshake is the platform that houses most of the Career Development Center resources for students, there are some additional resources that students may find helpful.
This unique networking tool provides current Elizabethtown College students the opportunity to seek assistance from Blue Jay Alumni and friends with their development as young professionals, as well as learn answers to questions about relevant topics within different professional fields. EtownConnect facilitates meaningful connections for current students and sets them up for success in their future careers.

The Career Action Plan is the gateway to a successful and fulfilling professional journey for Elizabethtown College students! This dynamic, online, module-based program is designed to keep students on track with their career readiness and development throughout their undergraduate experience.
Students are automatically enrolled on the Virtual Career Development Center Canvas page and can get started on their Career Action Plan today!
The Blue Jay Career Closet has been established by our Center for Community and Civic Engagement to provide our students with free, career-ready attire to wear for those who need it.

The LinkedIn Alumni Tool is a feature within LinkedIn that allows students to explore and connect with alumni of Elizabethtown College who may have interests or be in the field that they are exploring themselves.

O*NET (The Occupational Information Network) is an online database that contains hundreds of standardized and occupation-specific descriptors on almost every job in the workforce. It is developed under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration (USDOL/ETA) and is a comprehensive source of occupational information.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) is a comprehensive guide to career information and is published by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). It offers detailed information on hundreds of occupations, providing valuable insights into job tasks, work environments, educational and training requirements, median pay, and job outlook over the next decade for each occupation. The OOH is an essential resource for students, career advisors, and job seekers aiming to make informed decisions about their career paths.

The Career Development Center hosts and participates in multiple events every semester, focusing on career-specific topics.

Resources For Alumni
The Career Development Center is happy to assist alums with their professional journey! Recent alumni (alumni who graduated in the past three years) are eligible for unlimited appointments. Established alumni (alumni who graduated five or more years ago from the current year) are eligible for up to three appointments after graduation. We appreciate your understanding of this policy because of our current staffing levels in the Career Development Center. To schedule an appointment, please email careerdevelopmentcenter@etown.edu.
