Upcoming Trainings and Workshops
From time to time the Office of Marketing and Communications holds trainings sessions and workshops. Here are some upcoming events:
Web Content Writing Workshops
Donna Talarico, integrated marketing manager, will offer two web content workshops in February. These sessions are open to anyone interested in learning about writing content for the web; you do not have to be a campus CMS user.
This training will cover:
- Principles of Good Web Design - usability, navigation and writing to the audience
- Writing for the Web - formatting, writing, brand messaging, search engine optimization
- Formatting Images for the Web - sizing, tagging
To attend, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, session of choice and anything in particular in which you are interested in learning more about.
"Hey! I'm brushing my teeth!" and Other Social Media Myths:
If you think social media is still just a place to post what you had for breakfast, you are missing an opportunity to take advantage of the world's largest conversation. Faculty and staff members, as well as student leaders and the general public, are invited to attend this presentation by Integrated Marketing Manager Donna Talarico. (Join us for one of two sessions- one day or one evening to accommodate different schedules.)
Learn how to use Facebook and Twitter for yourself, for your group or both. We'll also explore other social media outlets such as LinkedIn, foursquare, Instagram and Pinterest. We'll cover social media best practices and faux pas.
We'll also cover social media lingo and share some resources which you can explore on your own time. Plus, we'll provide ideas on how to interact with the College through its official social media channels.
RSVP is not required, but feel free to sign up in advance by emailing email@example.com and, if you want, volunteer to have your Facebook page or Twitter account deconstructed at the session!
