Church Relations

Church Relations is an important component of the Institutional Advancement Division at Elizabethtown College. With an overarching objective to strengthen the College's mutually beneficial relationships with the Church of the Brethren's Atlantic Northeast and Southern Pennsylvania districts, the goals of Church Relations aim to foster interconnectedness, effective communication, mutual understanding, and meaningful engagement with — and support of — the College's students and programs. Church Relations initiatives also connect with other church offices throughout the Church of the Brethren denomination as needs and issues arise. The Young Center serves as an important partner in these efforts as its mission is to foster and promote the scholarly study of Anabaptist and Pietist groups.

The roots of Elizabethtown College are firmly planted in the tradition of the Church of the Brethren. The historic Brethren values of peace, service, nonviolence, social justice, and human dignity continue to be important tenents that inform the College's present and future.
