WWEC 88.3 FM
WWEC is "The Sound of Elizabethtown." Broadcasted on campus at 88.3 FM and streaming online, WWEC is operated by a board of Communications majors with an interest in radio broadcast and audio production and features original, free-format programming by student DJs from across the campus. Founded in 1961 as a student group who used "carrier current" technology to broadcast throughout the campus, WWEC was awarded its current FCC license in 1990 and began broadcasting on FM.
ECTV Channel 40
ECTV is Elizabethtown College's 24-hour cable access channel. Broadcasted locally at channel 40 on Comcast Cable and streamed online (returning soon), ECTV airs original, student-produced news and entertainment programming as well as educational, informative, and classic programming. Founded in the late 1980s as a working television production laboratory, ECTV is operated by a board of Communications majors and features on-air talent and crew from a variety of academic departments.
The Department of Communications houses professional-quality media outlets operated by students and under the direction of faculty advisors. The studios, located on the second floor of Elizabethtown College's Steinman Center, are the home of the affiliated media partnership of WWEC and ECTV.
