Washington Elementary Science Club
In partnership with the Elizabethtown College Science in Motion (EC-SIM) program and the Center for Community and Civic Engagement, students in 2nd-5th grades come to Elizabethtown College Campus once a week to participate in an engaging after-school science enrichment program. Hands-on, inquiry-based experiences are provided by College Faculty and students that supplement the current school curriculum and enhance students' critical thinking and problem solving skills. The programming is taught in an integrated manner that include other curricular areas such as Language Arts and other Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) related disciplines. By utilizing integrated, interdisciplinary programming, and service-learning, students are not only increasing their knowledge of science content and process skills, but also are developing and refining mathematics and literacy skills.
