DSST, Formally DANTES
DSST , formally Defense Activity for Non-traditional Education Support (DANTES), exams are college subject tests taken to earn college credit for knowledge acquired outside of a traditional classroom. DSST exams are administered by Prometric. The DSST offers 30 exams in six subject areas, including Physical Science, Technology, Humanities, Business, Math, and Social Science. While the exams are funded for active-duty military, DSST exams are not just for those in the military. Adult learners, home-schooled students, and military veterans are also eligible to earn college credits through DSST.
Elizabethtown College will award credit for Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) DSST Examinations according to the American Council on Education (ACE) recommendation. Credit is awarded only for subject areas that align with the college philosophy and current curriculum requirements of the institution. Evaluations will be assessed on an individual basis and in consultation with the department governing the course discipline. Please send your transcript sent to the Office of Registration and Records.
